Changing the Film: Unleashing Love Where Fear Once Ruled.
Changing the Film: Unleashing Love Where Fear Once Ruled.

Imagine our minds as movie projectors playing vibrant stories we nurture. Each story unfolds on the screen of our imagination, reflecting the creativity and feelings we have inside. Some films capture triumphant moments that make us want to dance in the rain, while others evoke a sense of struggle as if attempting to climb a mountain in flip-flops. Each scene reveals the beauty and complexity of our experiences as we create our stories on the screen of our minds.

Far too often, we allow fear-based thoughts to take center stage, resulting in a clunky old film that flickers with dramatic sequences of regret, heart-wrenching pain, and annoying limitations that trap us in a monotonous narrative.

But what if we possessed the extraordinary power to seize the remote and change the reel?

What if we could lovingly write a new script, transforming paralyzing fear into a bubbling fountain of love, exchanging the weighty chains of guilt for a shimmering cascade of grace, and converting regret into a treasure chest overflowing with wisdom?

Welcome to the grand theater of our minds, where the popcorn is endless, the seats are plush, and the screen plays the most captivating films, our thoughts.

Some are dazzling blockbusters, bursting with love, joy, and limitless freedom.

Others? Well… let’s just say they belong in the archives of Fear & Doubt Productions, rerunning the same old stories of anxiety, guilt, shame, and what ifs ?”

In this blog, I have my special guest: Jesus, the most excellent storyteller of all time.

And He’s not just here to watch. He’s here to take us behind the scenes, into the projection room where all our thoughts are spun into stories.

With a knowing smile and a tub of popcorn in hand, He’s about to show us how to stop the endless loops of fear and rewrite the script of our lives, one reel at a time.

In this playful yet profoundly healing conversation, Jesus guided me into the projection room of my mind, where I unearthed hidden treasures and shadows lurking among my thoughts, especially the unconscious ones, which were like outdated film reels endlessly looping the same fear-laden stories.

With His Divine guidance, I learned to break free from this cycle, replacing the fear I once fed my brain with an abundance of love instead.

Through our conversations, I discovered the strength to rewrite the script of my life, trading the heavy burdens of guilt, shame, and anxiety for a vibrant tapestry rich with grace, love, joy, and limitless freedom.

Like a passionate movie director, I plunged into the colorful details of God’s creative desires to shine through me, sparking a fun and fresh twist in my thoughts from the inside out!

Armed with my unique blend of creativity as a dreamer and deep feeler, a visionary and achiever, an adventurer and possibility seeker, I stepped into the role I was meant to play. I started speaking new truths about my life and my new identity in Him, and the movie changed just like that.

So, beloved reader, what’s playing in your mind?

Are you ready to step into the projection room with Jesus and rewrite the reel?

The popcorn’s warm, the seats are comfy, and the best part is You get to choose the story.

So, grab a seat. Dim the lights. The movie is about to change.

Popcorn and Possibilities: Sparking Your Imagination with a Dash of Fun.
Popcorn and Possibilities: Sparking Your Imagination with a Dash of Fun.

The theater was dimly lit, and the scent of buttered popcorn and something sweet, maybe caramel, lingered in the air.

The red velvet seats stretch in perfect rows, but tonight, there were only two of us. Jesus and I.

Right in the middle, where the view was best, Jesus sat, casually nibbling on popcorn.

He smiled, patted the seat beside Him, and said, “You’re just in time. The feature presentation is about to begin.”

Golden chandeliers cast a warm glow, and the hushed murmur of an invisible audience faded as the lights dimmed. The screen flickered, the reel began to spin, and beside me, Jesus smiled, tossing a handful of popcorn into His mouth.

“You ready?” He asked, tilting the bucket toward me.

I sighed, rubbing my hands together. “Do I have a choice?”

Jesus chuckled. “You always do. But I think you’ll like this one, this one’s special, it’s your story.” He winked.

I shifted in my seat, a nervous energy humming inside me. “Not sure I’m ready for this.”

He chuckled. “You’ve already lived it. Now, let’s watch with new eyes.”

The screen flickered to life. The movie began. And it’s not just any movie; it was my mind.

Act 1: The Endless Loop, Fear on Repeat.
Act 1: The Endless Loop, Fear on Repeat.

**Act 1: The Endless Loop, Fear on Repeat.**

At first, it felt like a familiar film I had seen a thousand times. Every scene dripped with anxiety, my face framed in doubt as those thoughts, heavy and relentless, scrolled through my mind like an unskippable ad. The same stories kept repeating, where I felt inadequate and failed before I began. Guilt, shame, and anxiety were my unwelcome co-stars, wrapping around me like a script I never auditioned for yet somehow knew by heart.

Jesus leaned back, casually munching on popcorn like He was at a movie premiere. “Hmm. This plot feels a bit worn out, don’t you think?”

I shot a glance over my shoulder. “Oh, you have no idea. It’s like déjà vu but without the fun.”

He turned to me, raising one eyebrow.

I sighed. “Okay, okay. Maybe you do know. You might have a point there,” I admitted, eyeing the screen that kept replaying the same old footage of my fears.

The reel continued to spin, a cycle of fear-driven thoughts, like outdated film reels stuck in an endless loop. The scenes and struggles never changed. I watched myself hesitate, second-guess, and shrink back, burdened by invisible weights.

I shook my head, frustrated. “Why do these always play on repeat?”

Jesus leaned forward, resting His elbows on His knees. “Because they’ve had all the backstage passes, my beloved.”

“Backstage passes?” I echoed, bewildered but intrigued.

He nodded. “Exactly! Your mind runs on what you keep inviting to the show. And fear? It’s hogged the spotlight for ages. And remember, for God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

I glanced back at the screen, watching my fears take center stage. I realized just how long I’d let them have the mic, giving them all my attention like a fan who just couldn’t get enough of the same tired storyline, letting it shape my decisions, emotions, and life.

Jesus leaned back, tossing a piece of popcorn in the air and catching it effortlessly. “The good news, beloved?”

I looked at Him, curious.

He winked and said, "You know what? You don’t have to remain stuck in the same old movie loop. Seriously, it’s perfectly fine to change the reel! When life feels overwhelming, don’t hesitate to send all that anxiety my way. Remember, I care about you and I am here to help you through it." (1 Peter 5:7)

Act 2: Breaking the Loop. Pressing Stop with Love.
Act 2: Breaking the Loop. Pressing Stop with Love.

**Act 2: Let's kick those old habits to the curb! Embrace love with a twist!**

I swallowed hard, shooting a cautious glance at the projector like it was about to launch into a dramatic fireworks display. “But how in the world do I do that? It feels like these reels have been playing on a loop since forever!”

Jesus, standing there with that ever-calm demeanor, gestured toward the projection booth, a cozy little nook tucked behind the screen. “Then let’s go to the source.”

We stood up and wove through the empty rows. As we stepped into the projection room, I noticed the old, clunky projector spinning the same tired reels. Stacks of dusty film canisters were labeled in bold letters:

• **Too Little, Too Late**: A Journey of Missed Timings and Regrets

• **What If I Crash and Burn?**: The Fearful Fantasies of Failure and Fractured Dreams

• **The Guilt & Shame Chronicles**: Tales from the Depths of Conscience and Inner Turmoil

• **Anxiety: The Never-Ending Sequel**: A Relentless Tale of Worry and Whirlwinds of Thoughts

I winced and said, "Wow, that playlist is like a bad mixtape from high school, seriously lacking in good vibes!" Jesus chuckled. “It’s familiar, though, isn’t it?”

I nodded. “Way too familiar.”

With a playful smirk, He edged closer and rested a hand on the projector as if it were a long-lost friend. “But just because it’s familiar doesn’t make it your truth.”

I blinked, trying to wrap my mind around this. “What do you mean?”

He met my gaze, His eyes warm and steady. “These reels? They were never meant to be your script. You picked them up, hit play, and let them spin without a second thought. But those aren’t your true adventures; they aren’t the story I wrote for you. I’ve crafted an exciting movie for your future, filled with exhilarating adventures and dazzling possibilities! Imagine a life where every day is a new scene, allowing you to explore, create, and discover what makes your heart sing. These plans aren’t about casting you in a limiting role; instead, they’re like a thrilling script leading you to a world overflowing with joy and excitement! So grab your popcorn because we’re about to embark on a fantastic journey that promises to light up your spirit and fill your life with endless fun and fulfillment!" (Jeremiah 29:11)

My heart began to race. “So what do I do?”

With a glint of mischief in His eyes, Jesus marched over to the spinning reels and, without hesitation, pressed stop. Silence filled the air. The endless loop broke.

I exhaled slowly, the stillness washing over me like a refreshing breeze, almost too strange yet undeniably soothing.

Jesus smiled like a proud director unveiling a blockbuster. “Now, we replace the reel. Therefore, you are in Christ, you are a new creation. The old has gone, the new is here!" (2 Corinthians 5:17)

He pulled out a vibrant new reel labeled “Love Unplugged” and held it up like a treasure. “This is your new story,” He said. “One that radiates pure joy, cultivates deep peace, and boldly embraces the exhilarating experiences and adventure that life has in store for you! Imagine a life filled with exciting adventures waiting just for you! Set aside your worries, take a deep breath, and remember to share your thoughts with Me. Add a touch of gratitude, and voilà! You'll uncover a wonderful sense of peace that feels like a gentle hug for your heart and mind. Let the love flow!" (Philippians 4:6-7

I felt a flicker of hope. “Can I really let go of the past?” Jesus nodded confidently. “Absolutely! Forgiveness is your golden key. Just remember, as far as the east is from the west—and that’s one epic distance—so far have I removed your wrongdoings from you.”

With a sense of anticipation, I took a deep breath, ready to embrace the next act ahead.

Act 3: Rewriting the Script. Trading Fear for Love.
Act 3: Rewriting the Script. Trading Fear for Love.

Act 3: **"Lights, Love, Action: A Heartfelt Adventure!"**

Act 3: **"Lights, Love, Action: A Heartfelt Adventure!"**

He gestured toward a colorful shelf brimming with shiny, untouched film canisters that sparkled like little treasures. Each piece shimmered invitingly as if it held a story waiting to be revealed.

I stepped closer, running my fingers over the labels:

• **Abundance & Joy: The Feature Film!**

• **Loved Without Earning-A Romantic Comedy!**

• **Healed & Whole: The Wellness Blockbuster!**

• **Freedom Unlimited: The Thrilling Adventure!**

Tears of joy welled up in my eyes. “Are these really... my new movies?”

Jesus couldn't help but smile. “Absolutely! They’re your truths, ready for their grand premiere!”

I lifted one canister, my hands shaking with anticipation. “But what if those old, sad films try to sneak back and start playing again?”

Jesus chuckled, tapping the side of His head like a wise director. “Ah, my beloved, that’s where you take the clapperboard! You’re the director of this show. You get to choose which reel rolls on the big screen. And every time fear tries to crash the party…” He handed me something small and cool, a metallic remote control.

“Just hit the stop button and replace it with a truth! It’s like your personal edit button!”

I took a deep breath, already feeling a flicker of confidence. “And what if I forget how to use it?”

With a reassuring smile, Jesus put His hand over mine. “Don’t worry! I’ll be right here, like your Maestro of cinematic magic! . I’ll remind you of My comforting words: I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5).

Jesus nudged the remote in my hand. “Alright, let’s make this practical. How do you keep the right film playing?” I nodded, ready.

**Practical Steps: Directing My Mind with Love. The Director's Playbook!**

**Cast Your Thoughts:**

• Just like casting actors, choose the thoughts that deserve the spotlight. Bring the positives to center stage and let them shine!

• Don’t let yourself blend into this world's dull and predictable patterns; instead, embrace a vibrant transformation by invigorating your mind with fresh thoughts and perspectives. (Romans 12:2)

• Be on the lookout for those pesky, fear-based thoughts trying to take control.

• Hit pause and ask yourself: Is this the voice of love or the voice of fear?

• If you spot fear in the director's chair, it’s time to swap the reel!

**Set the Scene:**

• Create a mental space that feels as inviting as your favorite movie set. Fill it with inspiration and cozy vibes to keep your creativity flowing.

“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

• Speak truth over your thoughts out loud, as if you’re following a script you’ve chosen.

• Grab your favorite notebook and jot down God’s promises, turning them into your personal script for success.

• Visualize handing over an old film reel filled with worries and doubts to Jesus, who then swaps it for a shiny new reel packed with hope and vibrant dreams. Don’t forget to prompt the uplifting soundtrack!

**Script Your Mind:**

• Write a script for your thoughts! Keep it lighthearted, and don’t forget to include a few comedic moments to lighten the mood.

• Immerse yourself in the captivating beauty of that which is true, noble, and right. Picture these as superheroes swooping in to inspire your mind and lift your spirits. (Philippians 4:8)

•Limit fear-based input: reduce exposure to negative news, toxic voices, and overthinking.

• Surround myself with love-filled, life-giving words.

• Create! Write, sing, dance—let love flow through you, shaping your new story.

**Lights, Camera, Action: Relaxation Rehearsal!**

• Before the big scenes of your day, practice mindfulness exercises like meditation or deep breathing. Every great director knows the importance of preparation!

**Cut the Drama: Edit Out Negativity!**

• Just as you would cut the fluff from a movie, trim out negative thoughts that don’t serve you. Keep the focus on what adds value to your life’s story.

**Surround Yourself with a Talented Crew:**

• Fill your life with supportive friends and mentors who uplift you. Everyone needs a fantastic team to create the most memorable moments!

**Improvise those Scene Changes!**

• Don’t be afraid to switch things up! If a thought isn’t working, improvise and take your mind in a different direction.

**Celebrate the Bloopers:**

• Learn to laugh at mistakes and bloopers! Every great film has those quirky moments that become fan favorites. Like a blooper reel, they remind us that life doesn’t always go as planned. Keep in mind that we all go through life, it’s completely normal to hit a few bumps along the way! These little missteps are part of our journey and they help us grow.(James 3:2). Embrace your imperfections!

**Final Cut:**

• At the end of each day, take a moment to reflect on what went well. It’s like the closing credits—celebrate and appreciate the moments that made your day unforgettable! This is a day perfectly designed by the Lord; seize the opportunity to rejoice and embrace the happiness it brings! (Psalm 118:24).

**Premiere Your Mind:**

• Every morning is an opportunity for a brand new show! Approach each day with excitement and a heart full of love, ready to direct your most thrilling film yet. Lights, camera, action! Your mind is your movie; direct it with love! The Lord has wonderful plans to help you thrive, keeping you safe with dreams filled with hope and a bright future waiting for you! (Jeremiah 29:11).

**Final Scene: A New Way of Seeing**

Back in the theater, I settled into my seat with popcorn in hand. The screen flickered again, but the movie was different this time—bright, free, and abundant.

Jesus leaned over, whispering, “You see? This is the real story.”

I squeezed the remote in my hand, nodding. “And I get to direct it now?”. I asked, my heart racing.

He chuckled, “You always did, my beloved! You just needed a nudge to remember who handed you the script.”

I exhaled, letting joy rise in my chest. The old reels had no power here; the new ones were already rolling.

Jesus nudged me. “So, what’s next?”

I smiled, eyes bright with possibility. “Let’s make it a masterpiece.”
